Out with the old; in with the new!

This beautiful space was once an outdated backyard in need of a major overhaul. The entire swimming pool was renovated to give this space the focal point it deserves. With an all-new paver pool deck, there are plenty of areas to lounge and hang out around the pool. The new grilling and cooking structure is a perfect spot to gather around and fuel up after a day in the pool. Constructed by our excellent landscaping team in Sioux Falls, this backyard remodel will be an outstanding space to make memories for years to come.

A Space For the Whole Family

A Space For the Whole Family

This outdoor space really has something for everyone.

These Rochester, MN homeowners turned to our team for vision. The challenge? Turn a huge yard – covered in grass and a few outdated paver areas – into a space for entertaining and a fun area for their kids to hang out.

We created several different spaces to accomplish the goals. A fire pit area provides warmth on chilly Minnesota evenings, the lounge area is the perfect place to relax, the kitchen has everything a grill-master could ask for, and, of course, the enormous pool is large enough to swim laps or just splash around.

In order to achieve a contemporary/classic look to match the existing home, we used the same brick from the front of the home to create the new outdoor kitchen. This space is complete with a grill, storage, a side burner, and an outdoor refrigerator.

Techo-Bloc materials create a seat wall around the fire pit area and a raised planter on the end of the pool to give some height and dimension to the backyard.

When creating the planting plan, it was important to use low-maintenance and deer-resistant plants. We achieved this while adding bright bursts of color throughout the large yard.

After a fun-filled day, the homeowners and their guests relax and enjoy a lively low-voltage lighting system and color-changing lights within the pool.

This renovation started as a wide-open, turf-covered backyard (or a blank canvas, as our design team sees it). Fast-forward a few months, and magic!

The pool is surrounded by ample paver pool decking and is complete with a starting block for the swimmer in the family. If the pool is for the kid on the swim team, then the cabana is for the adults to relax and enjoy some time sheltered from the hot afternoon sun. Add perennial flowers for color and large spaded trees for privacy, and you have a backyard transformation that is true to Our Mission: We design, build, and maintain beautiful one-of-a-kind landscapes for our customers to enjoy.

“Go big or go home” is the theme for this backyard. If you can’t decide which features to incorporate into the space you have, just incorporate them all!

From accent fire bowls to a fire pit and fireplace, this backyard has plenty of places to enjoy the heat and ambiance of a nice flame. Add a water feature, a full outdoor kitchen, bathroom, bar, swimming pool, hot tub, and plenty of paver pool deck for seating areas, and you have an entertaining space made for a magazine. Forget the watering — the raised annual planters and perennial beds are all watered with drip irrigation. LED low voltage lighting provides ambiance and functional path lighting to the foot traffic areas. We are proud to have designed and built this beautiful backyard! The Weller Brothers craftsmanship that put this project together is second to none.

Nestled into the Grand Prairie on the south side of Sioux Falls, this one-of-a-kind backyard transformation was completed in 2014.

The mission was to create a resort-like entertaining space; the challenge was that it had been done once before and failed due to poor drainage and frost heaving issues. Major excavation and the installation of a completely new drain tile and surface water collection system provided a well-drained foundation to build from. Frost footings under all of the structures were installed to prevent any future heaving and settling issues. The modern design of the house inspired the material selection for the outdoor space. Pergola beams were custom engineered to span 22’ without a middle support post. The modern “floating” fire pit gives a sleek look to the seating area. The bar offers storage with a fridge and an outdoor beer tap. Several raised planters were added for annual plant material to add bursts of color to accent and soften the hard materials.

Hillside, or sloped backyards, often leave homeowners with unusable and unsafe space. This client was faced with just that.

A combination of limestone slabs and fieldstone boulders were used to terrace this backyard, creating flat usable areas that became the blank canvas for our Sioux Falls design team. We renovated an existing meandering stream bed and pond, adding several waterfalls and a sitting area to enjoy the view. Natural stone steps and pathways were added for ease of access to the planting bed areas. Speaking of plants, this is a beautiful showcase for what the right selection of plant materials can do for any landscape. We used both perennials and annuals to soften the hardscaping and bring color and life to this gem of a project. This backyard is a true show-stopper.

This breathtakingly beautiful house deserved a landscape just as beautiful.

You’d never believe this project is nestled right in the middle of town. One of the great things about this project was being able to work hand in hand with the home builder to extend the architecture of the house into the landscape of this home in Sioux Falls. The combination of natural stone, cedar, and concrete pavers helped create a truly unique space. Sometimes the best “escape” is simply walking out the back door.

We never back down from a challenge. The architectural style of this Mediterranean-inspired beauty required the utmost attention to detail, starting with the design, through materials selection and construction.

Completed in 2016, the front of the house was to be a showpiece. The large portico protruding over the front entrance was made complete with a large circular paver driveway, creating the most grand of home entrances. Annual pots and perennials add bursts of color and life, creating traffic-stopping curb appeal. The backyard of this home is the perfect setup for entertaining guests, complete with a built-in grill and bar seating. The fire pit and surrounding paver patio are separated from the main living space by two large raised planters, creating an intimate space to enjoy an evening by the fire. Fire bowls add accent flames and additional heat to this outdoor living space for those nights with a chill in the air. We are proud to have been a part of bringing the exterior of this beautiful Sioux Falls home to life with a one-of-a-kind landscape.

The covered grilling and living area flows perfectly off the interior dining room of this home. An outdoor TV above the patio door makes it a perfect place to watch the Minnesota Vikings.

The raised patio space extends out from under the roof, offering a spot to catch some rays. Step down the stairway to another large patio with a cut flagstone fire pit area. The integration of concrete pavers and flagstone provides a pleasant contrast between the man-made and the natural. Take another set of stairs up to a recessed hot tub situated off the master bedroom of the house. Radiant perennials, sightly grasses, and shrubs soften the hardscapes and offer year-round color and appeal. Low voltage LED lighting accents the stairs and living space for a delicately lit backyard.
