The primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to sell maintenance services and enhancements to existing clients while ensuring their retention with Weller Brothers by exceeding their expectations.This position will sell and maintain contracts with clients that improve the functional and/or aesthetic value of the property. Many of the services that are sold to clients include, but are not limited to, mowing, lawn care programs, horticultural services, and snow removal. At Weller Brothers, team members are expected to provide excellent client service and build trust by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answer questions, and provide information as needed. An account manager will ensure that all jobs are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

  • Prepare and present proposals in a timely and professional manner, according to company standards. Track all proposals in progress and follow-up to closure.

  • Monitor production (time/expenses) with the Division Manager and production team, and provide avenues to improve the bottom line.
  • Identify job site priorities and/or coordinate jobsite schedules.
  • Provide excellent organizational management, leadership, and communication between client and production team.
  • Promote high standards of for client service, safety culture and a positive team environment
  • Provide assistance in managing team members as needed including performance management, addressing complaints, and planning, assigning or directing workload.
  • Perform other duties as assigned throughout each season.. (Ex: snow removal)
  • Report time and productivity daily using LMN and CRM software.
  • Keep and submit all receipts for material and fuel purchased.
  • Put in the hours necessary to make sure the job is getting done on time including weekend and holidays if necessary.
  • Maintain equipment. Responsible for getting all equipment to repair shops in a timely manner keeping in mind productivity.  
  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.

  • Manage equipment and staff allocation amongst crews

  • Perform field duties as required to meet staffing needs and client expectations.

    • Communicate with clients in a professional manner.
    • Use knowledge of turf grass and landscape industry to inform and educate clients.
    • Perform and oversee day-to-day crew tasks including but not limited to lawn mowing, power raking, landscape bed maintenance, spring and fall cleanups and other lawn and landscape maintenance tasks.
    • Manage and train new crew members.  Make sure all crew members including yourself are accounted for on LMN time accurately each day to ensure proper processing of payroll. 
    • Hold crew members accountable for being on time to work and doing their respective duties. 
    • Hold crew members accountable for the way they treat company property. 
    • Mandate a ½ hour lunch break each day for crew.
  • Assist the Maintenance Sales and Operations Manager in maintaining and improving gross profit through efficiency and cost reducing opportunities within the maintenance division including:

    • Warranty minimization

    • Labor efficiency

    • Unbillable time

  • Assist with the development and implementation of job safety programs.

The primary responsibility of the Landscape Technician is to assist with construction/installation of designated landscape projects. This position will assist with a variety of outdoor landscape project installations that improve the functional and/or aesthetic value of the property. Many of the projects include softscape and hardscape installation, including pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens. Lawn Maintenance Foreman (Sioux Falls)

The primary responsibility of the maintenance foreman is to maintain the lawn health and maintenance of our clients through services including but not limited to mowing, trimming, edging, and fertilization.This position will perform a variety of tasks in relation to lawn health that improve the functional and/or aesthetic value of the property. All Weller Brothers team members are expected to provide excellent client service by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answer questions and provide information as needed. A maintenance foreman will perform and ensure all team members are executing all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and competency satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.

  • Oversee day-to-day crew tasks including but not limited to lawn mowing, power raking, landscape bed maintenance, spring and fall cleanups, fall leaf removal, and other lawn and landscape maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee your maintenance crew, making sure they are on track and being productive
  • Communicate with clients  in a professional manner.  Use knowledge of turfgrass and landscape industry to inform and educate clients.
  • Able to use outdoor maintenance and power equipment, variety of hand tools, and legally operate a motor vehicle.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team or alone, in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy physical labor on a daily basis.

Details about this Career

The primary responsibility of the Landscape Lead Hand is to aid and assist a landscape foreman while on job sites. Coordinate and manage team members along with their schedules, in the absence of a landscape foreman. This position will perform a variety of outdoor landscape project installations that improve the functional and/or aesthetic value of the property.  Many of the projects include softscape and hardscape installation, including pavers, retaining walls, and outdoor kitchens.Installations require experience and knowledge of operating machinery efficiently and safely.  All Weller Brothers team members are expected to provide excellent client service by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answer questions and provide information as needed. A landscape lead hand will perform and assist in ensuring all team members are executing all job responsibilities in a safe, timely and efficient manner.

  • In the absence of a landscape foreman, oversee a crew of 2-3 team members, making sure they are on track and being productive. 
  • Responsible for maintaining clean job sites.  Record End-of-Day Checklist each day.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic to complete a variety of physical job tasks.
  • Professionally communicate with clients to achieve strong client/company relationships.
  • Operate a variety of outdoor landscape and power equipment, as well as a variety of hand tools.
  • Have experience operating excavators, skid loaders, and other machinery
  • Experience installing retaining walls, patio pavers and softscapes
  • Commit the hours necessary to make sure the job is done to satisfaction; this may include weekends and/or holidays
  • Maintain a clean appearance and conform to the Weller Brothers dress code.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and installation practices.
  • Assist in maintaining all company equipment.
  • Follow all policies as specified in the Team Member Handbook.
  • Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company.

The primary responsibility of the Arborist is to maintain trees and woody plants to ensure their healthy, safe, and attractive condition including chemical applications, repairing, cabling, fertilizing, watering, pruning, and removal of any dead, diseased or declining trees.  All Weller Brothers team members are expected to provide excellent client service by assisting clients promptly and courteously, answer questions and provide information as needed. Accountant

The primary responsibility of the Accountant is to support the accounting and finance functions for Weller Brothers and all entities.  Provide excellent customer service by assisting internal and external customers promptly and courteously. Answers questions and provides information as needed. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Accounting

  • Process vendor-issued invoices
  • Properly code credit card activity
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on discrepancies
  • Reconcile credit card, loan, and bank statements
  • Follow up on past due accounts receivable
  • Post payments to customer accounts
  • Assist with sales/use tax returns and excise tax returns
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies where possible 
  • Assist with month end account reconciliations and posting of journal entries
  • Assist in developing formal accounting policies and procedures
  • Perform other accounting tasks as they arise

General / Office

  • Assist with client calls regarding accounting-related questions.
