Details about this Career

The primary responsibility of the Groundsman is to haul brush and wood from the tree to the truck, assist the tree climber, use ropes and various hand and power tools, and clean the job site. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers promptly and courteously as needed. Answer questions and provide information as needed. Perform all job responsibilities in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.

Job Requirements

• Cutting, chipping, and loading logs, brush, and limbs
• Operating a chainsaw, chipper, handsaw, pole saw and Avant in a safe manner
• Providing support for arborist and other crew members by controlling lowering ropes, limbs, and persons from above
• Job site cleanup
• Supplying tools for tree workers
• Working with the crew to complete tree care and landscaping jobs
• Driving a truck with a trailer
• Assisting with equipment maintenance
• Adheres to company safety standards at all times, including the use of PPE
• Follow uniform policy and all policies as specified in the Employee Handbook. Hold crew members accountable for following policies
• Commit the hours necessary to make sure the job is done to satisfaction
• Make decisions that are in the best interest of the company
• Assist in maintaining all Weller Brothers equipment
• Other duties as needed to help fulfill the Weller Brothers mission

• Ability to work and communicate professionally with customers and team members
• Superior customer service skills
• Lead by example
• Manage and train new team members
• Timely input of hours on LMN software to ensure accurate payroll processing
• Hold team members accountable for being to work on time and doing their respective duties
• Hold team members accountable for proper care of company issued tools and equipment
• Proficient computer knowledge
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Strong attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma/GED required
• One year experience preferred but not required
